Our 'Epic' Journey to Oriental Mindoro: Day 3 - Oceans, Boats and Gospel

Them: "We're going swimming today!"
Me: "Cool. I can walk along the beach and stare at the ocean all I want."

Woke up on the floor with the laptop and tablet still running. Wow, thank God I fell asleep right AFTER I've finished my work. Never mind that the tablet and the laptop (both borrowed, by the way) and my phone/WiFi were running the whole time I was asleep.

I've just woken up and I wanted to go sleep again -_-  But because we have a plan for today, I have to wake myself up properly. Hit the showers then.

For the record: Guys, really, I didn't mind sleeping on the floor that night morning. (Honestly, I can fall asleep anywhere). I hope Albert no one felt guilty or something, because I was not mad at all. :))

To the plaza to see the Morions.

By the way, before we left for the beach, we dropped by the plaza first to check out the so-called Morions. They're basically people who dressed up in costumes
and big masks. (Pictures would come in handy here but I haven't uploaded them yet so...)

Now, off to the beach!

After 378 tries, they finally got the timing right.
We still had to walk for a bit along the muddy areas to reach the motorized fishing boat that will take us to the other side where we can access the ocean. Riding on the boat was so cool because I can touch the water and still see the mangroves surrounding the water body as if they're so near. Best part of the trip: Riding boats XD

Now, for those who might say I didn't have fun there, I'm sorry but I totally did. You're just expecting me to express it in the same way that you do so when you couldn't see it, you assumed I was bored. Seriously, this happens every single time so I'm kinda used to it. It's not easy being the unconventional introvert among extroverts. *shakes head*

But seriously, I was already satisfied with seeing everyone enjoying themselves, frolicking under the scorching heat of the sun. That's enough for me. Though in reality, I just didn't want to get burned :))

My kind of fun in the oceanside is to walk by the beach, stare at the ocean, sit under the trees, paddle a canoe (fishing boat) and savor the wind. Not swimming, taking pictures and actively exposing myself to the sun -- all of which, I'm aware, is the normal fun thing to do at the beach. But I don't care :))

Picnic?

Fishing Boat Fun

I know Dan someone would say that I "didn't do anything" at all. Well, I don't have the same definition of enjoyment as you -- just deal with it  =p
I had so much fun riding the fishing boat and paddling away on the shallow waters. :)) At first I was a bit skeptical if Albert can really manage the fishing boat but we went for it anyway. And since Dan was too busy groping around the riverbed for shellfish, the three of us jokingly agreed to exclude him and just let him do his thing :))

The first fishing boat we got on only has one paddle so Albert was tasked to do the honors.

Told you, I love the ocean.

Getting Ready

As soon as we got back to Albert's house, we immediately hit the showers and got down to business -- preparing for what we really came there for: to share the Gospel. Dan, being the de facto leader (and therefore evangelist for tonight) was already feeling the pressure. And so we spent the next few hours coming up with a cell guide about salvation.

To be honest, we ran into some disagreements about how exactly we should go about with the family evangelism. The three of us were gradually losing our cool as we insisted on what we think was right. It was not the kind of harmless banters like the one we just had at the plaza. (See Day 2.) I'm pretty sure we're already on the verge of raising our voices (either because we're misinterpreting each other or because of just plain stubborness) when I realized what was happening and promptly shut up. Only this time, my silence was not because I was stressed but because I wanted to say a personal prayer. Clearly, the enemy was sowing discord among us so that we won't be able to share Jesus to that family.

Gospel-sharing

It's already dinnertime but we haven't finished prepping for the Gospel-sharing that's supposed to be the highlight of our trip.
